There is something so refreshing about the end of another year. I love looking back through all of the goals we’ve set, and seeing how much much progress we’ve made. Even if we didn’t quite meet all of our goals, we still made more progress than if we hadn’t set them.
A new year means new beginnings and new goals! A fresh start. A clean slate.
It also means change. Maybe looking back on the things that didn’t quite work out the previous year. Or improving the things you think you can do even better.
The new year will also be bringing a few changes to this little slice of blogland. Not too many, but a few.
For one thing, we will be writing more about finances and how to practically go about stewarding what we’ve been given. We will be writing more about tips for paying off debt, saving, budgeting, investing.
If we don’t manage money well, how can we expect to use it to strategically be a blessing to others? Biblically, we believe that is something Christ commands us to do. We must HAVE money to GIVE money. And we want to help you grow in this area as well.
Other changes you will see include a few more in-depth studies of specific books of the Bible. Up until now, we have primarily done devotional type posts, focusing on a topic at a time. These Bible study driven posts will most likely take the form of a series as we study through books of the Bible at a time.
It is SO important for every believer to love the Word, and be comfortable walking through it themselves. Our prayer is that these Bible studies will give you more skills and strategies for walking through entire books of the Bible for yourself!
You will also be seeing more practical posts, written to inspire you in the actual process of homemaking and serving your family. Time management, meal planning, tips and tricks that help us streamline cleaning, simple organizing hacks that make a big difference.
We believe that when you spend a little bit of time setting yourself up for success in managing your home, you have more time to dedicate to your family. We want to share systems that help us have more time for the things that matter most in life!!
That brings me to the heart of this post. I wanted to let you all in on a little secret. We will be doing something VERY different the first few weeks of January.
Instead of only posting our usual Tuesday and Thursday posts, for the first few weeks of January we will be posting three days each week – Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Each week we will focus on one area to help you get a little more organized while welcoming the new year!
We will be looking at things like having a consistent Quiet Time – how we set up ours, tools we use in our Quiet Time, tips and tricks that will help you as you find what works for you.
We will also be thinking about…dun dun dun…..taxes. We will walk through important forms you might need, and how to keep everything organized going forward.
Some of the things I hear the most are directly related to time management. “I wish I could plan ahead like that.” “How do you get so much done in one day?” We will be sharing some of our best time management principles so you, too, can get it all done!
Finally, we will be letting you in on some of our meal planning secrets. What it is, why it saves us so much time and money, how we do it start to finish.
A little bit of organization goes a long way. It saves you time, money, and sanity. And saving time in these areas means you free up even more time to be with your families!!
What are your biggest problem areas that affect your homemaking? What is the one thing that keeps you from spending more time with your families?
